Vietnam has begun airing the Vietnamese version of “The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping,” a multilingual television show produced by China Media Group (CMG). The program’s launch coincides with Chinese President Xi Jinping’s two-day state visit to the country, marking a significant moment in the cultural exchange between the two nations.
The airing of the show is part of the celebrations for the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Vietnam. On Monday, CMG and Vietnam Television held a cooperation ceremony to establish regular collaboration in content sharing, joint production, and personnel exchanges between the two broadcasters.
Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a letter of congratulations on the program’s broadcast and the success of the event. He highlighted that 2025 marks the Vietnam-China Year of People-to-People Exchanges and encouraged both broadcasters to seize this opportunity to further strengthen cultural ties. He emphasized the importance of promoting mutual understanding and building a Vietnam-China community with a shared future.
Shen Haixiong, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president of CMG, expressed a willingness to work with Vietnamese friends to contribute to building a China-Vietnam community with strategic significance. He stressed the principles of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness, aiming to build a peaceful and prosperous shared home.
Nguyen Thanh Lam, president of Vietnam Television, noted the event’s significance in the over 30 years of cooperation between the two leading media institutions. He stated that this collaboration greatly contributes to promoting traditional friendship and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
Le Hai Binh, executive vice minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, highlighted the close cultural bonds between China and Vietnam, describing them as friendly neighbors connected by mountains and rivers. He expressed hope that the cooperation between the two media institutions will continue to flourish, strengthening the friendship between the two peoples.
Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam He Wei expressed his hope that “The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping” will help Vietnamese viewers better understand China and appreciate the cultural roots of Chinese modernization. He emphasized that amity between the people holds the key to sound state-to-state relations.
