China has announced plans to strengthen its partnership with the European Union (EU) to promote global trade. According to He Yongqian, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, both China and the EU aim to enhance dialogue and cooperation to support the rules-based multilateral trading system led by the World Trade Organization (WTO).
He Yongqian noted that 2025 will mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the EU. He emphasized that both parties are strong supporters of economic globalization and trade liberalization, working together to defend the WTO’s principles.
“China is eager to collaborate with the EU to ensure the stability of global industrial and supply chains,” said He Yongqian during a regular press conference. “Our goal is to bring more certainty and positive energy to the world economy through strong China-EU economic and trade relations.”
This commitment comes at a crucial time when global trade faces challenges. The collaboration between China and the EU could play a significant role in fostering a stable and open trading environment, benefiting economies worldwide.
