The fifth China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) is buzzing with excitement as Thai businesses showcase their innovative products to the world. With 63 brands from 15 enterprises, Thailand is putting the spotlight on its unique flavors and wellness treasures.
“This expo allows us to bring Thailand’s authentic flavors directly to consumers,” said Kajtiti Wiwatwanont, consul-general of Thailand in Guangzhou. From freeze-dried delicacies like Tom Yum Kung and Som Tum to popular wellness products like bird’s nest soap and herbal balms, Thai companies are offering something special for everyone.
Thailand is eager to strengthen economic ties with China, focusing on supply chain integration and connectivity. Major companies like CP Group and TC Red Bull have established production bases in Hainan, attracted by the free trade port’s favorable policies.
“Hainan’s strategic location serves as a bridge between China and Thailand, not just in trade but also in people-to-people connections,” Wiwatwanont added. With the free trade port policies, Hainan offers Thai investors a gateway into the Chinese market, while Thailand serves as Southeast Asia’s doorway.
The Hainan Expo is more than just a trade show—it’s a dynamic platform where entrepreneurs connect and collaborate. Thai businesses are leveraging this opportunity not only to showcase their products but also to forge partnerships, elevating cooperation from trade to investment.
Together, Hainan Province and Thailand can access a combined consumer base of over 600 million across the ASEAN region. Initiatives like the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership and the Belt and Road Initiative are creating unparalleled synergies, driving deeper economic integration and regional prosperity between the two countries.
