China Slams Us Probe into Maritime Shipbuilding Sectors

China Condemns U.S. Investigation into Shipbuilding Industries

China has voiced strong opposition to the United States’ recent probe into its maritime, logistics, and shipbuilding sectors.

On Friday, a spokesperson from China’s Ministry of Commerce criticized the U.S. Section 301 investigation, stating that China has consistently reiterated its stance and has submitted a non-paper outlining its position. The spokesperson urged the United States to stop blaming China for its domestic industrial issues.

Describing the U.S. measures as “typical unilateralism and protectionism,” the spokesperson said they severely harm the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises. “These actions seriously disrupt the stability of global industrial and supply chains, blatantly violate WTO rules, and fundamentally undermine the rules-based multilateral trading system and international economic and trade order,” they added.

China called on the United States to respect facts and multilateral rules, urging it to cease its wrongful actions. The spokesperson emphasized that China will closely monitor developments and is prepared to take necessary measures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
