New Sci fi Center in Shanghai to Open with three body Spectacle

Shanghai’s New Sci-Fi Center Brings ‘Three-Body’ Universe to Life

Shanghai is gearing up to unveil a groundbreaking sci-fi center this summer, inviting fans to immerse themselves in the universe of Liu Cixin’s iconic trilogy, The Three-Body Problem. Nestled in the futuristic Fengxian District, the center’s architecture resembles a colossal spaceship floating above the cityscape.

The facility boasts six themed zones featuring over 30 interactive exhibits designed to captivate visitors. One of the highlights includes a suspended 13-meter-long model of the “Natural Selection” space battleship, intricately crafted from more than 6,000 mechanical parts. Another standout feature is a massive device that transmits “cosmic signals” into the universe, adding to the otherworldly experience.

Earlier this month, although still under construction, the center lit up the night sky with a spectacular drone show. A fleet of 500 drones created mesmerizing visuals from the sci-fi saga, including countdown sequences, Sophons, and Droplets, bringing scenes from the beloved novels to life.

Slated to open before the summer vacation, the sci-fi center aims to become Shanghai’s new cultural landmark. By merging science fiction, cutting-edge technology, and immersive storytelling, it promises an unforgettable adventure for fans and newcomers alike.
