China and UAE Strengthen Investment Cooperation at High-Level Meeting

Beijing — In a significant move to boost economic ties, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan virtually co-chaired the first meeting of a high-level committee for China-UAE investment cooperation on Monday.

Ding, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, praised the committee’s role in enhancing bilateral cooperation. He emphasized China’s commitment to working with the UAE to implement the shared understandings between their heads of state, aiming to increase the efficiency and scale of investment cooperation and advance their comprehensive strategic partnership.

He proposed that both nations should fully leverage the steering role of the committee, plan major projects under the Belt and Road Initiative, and encourage enterprises to expand their areas of cooperation and innovate collaboration methods.

Sheikh Mansour expressed the UAE’s appreciation for the strong bilateral relations and confidence in China’s economy. He stated that the UAE is eager to enhance investment cooperation with China to leverage their complementary advantages and promote shared prosperity.

This meeting marks a pivotal step in deepening ties between China and the UAE, opening new avenues for collaboration, and contributing to economic growth and development in both countries.
