Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi is set to visit China on Wednesday, marking a significant moment in the longstanding relationship between the two nations.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced the visit on Tuesday, highlighting that Araghchi will be meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
“Over the past 54 years since establishing diplomatic ties, China and Iran have fostered a relationship built on mutual respect, trust, and support, driving the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations while contributing to regional and global peace and stability,” said Guo Jiakun, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
During the visit, the two sides are expected to engage in in-depth discussions on China-Iran relations and international and regional issues of mutual concern. Guo added that the visit will play a significant role in implementing key agreements between the two countries’ leaders, deepening political trust, advancing cooperation across various fields, and jointly upholding multilateralism.
The meeting underscores the importance of collaboration between China and Iran, especially in addressing global challenges and promoting peace and stability in the region.
