In a warm display of international friendship, Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, met with Rachel Ruto, wife of Kenyan President William Ruto, over tea in Beijing on Thursday.
The two first ladies celebrated the longstanding bond between China and Kenya, highlighting successful collaborations in education, sports, agriculture, and more. Peng expressed her hopes for even stronger ties and deeper friendships between the people of both nations.
Sharing insights on China’s achievements in targeted poverty alleviation, Peng applauded Rachel’s dedication to social welfare, especially her focus on women’s education and empowerment.
