China Urges Philippines to Stop Its Rights infringing Acts

China Urges Philippines to Halt ‘Rights-Infringing Acts’ in South China Sea

The China Coast Guard has condemned the Philippines for what it calls “provocative behavior” in the South China Sea, urging Manila to cease actions that infringe on China’s sovereignty.

According to spokesperson Liu Dejun of the China Coast Guard, six individuals from the Philippines illegally landed on Tiexian Jiao, a part of China’s Nansha Qundao, on Sunday. Liu stated that China has “indisputable sovereignty” over the Nansha Qundao and its adjacent waters.

“The actions of the Philippines violate China’s territorial sovereignty and undermine regional peace and stability,” Liu said. “We urge the Philippine side to immediately cease its rights-infringing acts.”

Liu added that the China Coast Guard would continue to conduct “rights protection and law enforcement activities” in waters under China’s jurisdiction. The spokesperson emphasized the importance of adhering to the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea.

The incident marks another point of contention in the ongoing disputes over territories in the South China Sea, a region rich in resources and strategic importance.
