Late Sunday night, China made another leap in its space exploration efforts by successfully launching the Tianlian II-05 data relay satellite into orbit. The satellite took off at 11:54 p.m. Beijing Time from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, aboard a Long March-3B carrier rocket.
The Tianlian II-05 is part of China’s second-generation geosynchronous orbit data-relay satellite system. This advanced satellite will enhance communication capabilities by providing data relay and telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) services. It will support manned spacecraft like spaceships and space stations, assist medium and low-Earth-orbit resource satellites, and offer TT&C support for future spacecraft launches.
This mission marks the 572nd flight of the Long March carrier rocket series, highlighting China’s ongoing progress in space technology and exploration.
