Chinese Premier Li Qiang chaired a State Council executive meeting on Sunday, focusing on critical issues like river and lake protection, child welfare, healthcare security, and nuclear power development.
Protecting Rivers and Lakes
The meeting highlighted China’s ongoing efforts to improve its aquatic ecosystems. Premier Li emphasized the need for a targeted, scientific, and law-based approach to pollution treatment. He called for coordinated actions to enhance water resources, aquatic environments, and ecosystems.
“Forceful measures should address problems at their source,” the meeting concluded. Strengthening monitoring, tracing pollution sources, and curbing excessive emissions are pivotal steps in this initiative.
Prioritizing Children’s Welfare
Addressing the welfare of children in difficulties, the meeting underscored the importance of prioritizing children’s development. Efforts were called for to maximize benefits for children and continuously improve services catering to their living, medical, educational, and mental health needs.
Advancing Healthcare Security Law
