“It’s all about precision,” says Lao Feng. “Every adjustment, from the wax formula to the edge angle, depends on factors like snow conditions, humidity, wind, and temperature.” His meticulous work has serviced boards for some of the country’s top athletes, enhancing their performance where it counts most.
But when winter fades and the snow melts, Lao Feng’s mission doesn’t stop—it simply shifts gears. He becomes the mastermind behind a bustling coffee festival, a highlight of Beijing’s spring calendar. While he’s not the one pulling espresso shots, he’s the force ensuring everything runs seamlessly. From coordinating supplies and logistics to maintaining cleanliness, Lao Feng handles the behind-the-scenes tasks that keep the caffeine flowing.
“Whether it’s on the slopes or at the festival, my goal is to support others,” he explains. “Seeing people enjoy themselves because of what I’ve done—that’s the real reward.”
