In a significant move towards enhancing international cooperation, China and the European Parliament have agreed to simultaneously and comprehensively lift restrictions on mutual exchanges. The announcement was made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian during a daily news briefing on Tuesday.
“Exchanges between the legislative bodies of China and the European Union have faced setbacks in recent years for reasons known to all,” Lin Jian stated. “Given the current circumstances, both sides believe it is crucial to strengthen dialogue and cooperation.”
The decision marks a positive step in China-Europe relations, aiming to deepen communication and understanding between the two sides. “We believe and expect that with the full resumption of exchanges between the legislative bodies of China and the EU, the two sides will inject new impetus into the sustained, healthy, and stable development of China-Europe relations,” Lin added.
The move is anticipated to foster closer ties and mutual understanding, benefiting not only China and the EU but also contributing to global stability and development.
