Celebrate World Smile Day with a Grin

Children in Qinhuangdao Paint Smiles to Celebrate World Smile Day

Children in Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, lit up the city with colorful smiles as they celebrated World Smile Day on May 7, 2025. The young participants painted vibrant smiley faces, spreading joy and warmth throughout the community.

World Smile Day, observed annually on May 8, carries a dual significance. In 1948, the International Red Cross designated this day—the birthday of its founder, Henry Dunant—as World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. That same year, the World Federation for Mental Health declared May 8 as World Smile Day, highlighting the universal power of a simple smile.

This year, children from different parts of China joined in the celebrations, their happy faces symbolizing hope and unity. Their bright smiles not only brought delight to those around them but also served as a reminder of the strength found in joy and kindness.

As the festivities continue, the smiles of these young residents shine as a beacon of happiness, inspiring others to share positivity and compassion.
