China Braces for Severe Storms as Yellow Alerts Issued
China’s National Meteorological Center (NMC) has issued yellow alerts for rainstorms and severe convective weather, signaling a major weather event across several regions. From 2 p.m. Thursday to 2 p.m. Friday, parts of southern and northern China are expected to experience heavy rains, with torrential downpours forecasted for Jiangxi, Hunan, and Guangxi provinces.
Residents in these areas can expect thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail. The NMC has also warned of possible tornadoes in some parts of Jiangxi. Additionally, strong winds are anticipated in Anhui and Jiangsu in east China, as well as Guangdong in the south.
The NMC is urging the public to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and heed emergency alerts. Travelers are advised to prioritize road safety, and everyone should remain vigilant against potential secondary disasters such as floods and landslides.
China employs a four-tier color-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe conditions, followed by orange, yellow, and blue. The issuance of a yellow alert indicates significant weather risks that require preventive action.
As the nation braces for this intense weather phase, authorities are mobilizing resources to mitigate impacts and ensure public safety.
