Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have exchanged congratulatory letters at a significant cultural exchange event held in Moscow on Wednesday. The event commemorated the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Soviet Union’s Great Patriotic War.

In his message, President Xi highlighted the unbreakable friendship forged between the Chinese and Russian people during the World Anti-Fascist War. He emphasized that their joint sacrifices laid a solid foundation for the flourishing bilateral relations seen today.

“Thanks to our joint efforts, China-Russia relations are thriving with new vitality, setting a model for a new type of international relations between major countries,” Xi stated.

The event was co-hosted by China Media Group and the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. President Putin also sent a congratulatory letter, echoing sentiments of cooperation and shared history between the two nations.
