Xi Jinping and Putin Strengthen China-Russia Partnership in Moscow

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks in Moscow on Thursday, aiming to strengthen the ties between their nations. After in-depth and cordial discussions, the leaders signed a joint statement to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era.

The two presidents witnessed the exchange of several bilateral cooperation documents, injecting new momentum into China-Russia relations. “We have reached many important consensuses,” Xi said during their joint press conference.

This visit marks Xi’s 11th trip to Russia since becoming president of the Chinese mainland. He noted that he will attend the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Soviet Union’s Great Patriotic War on Friday.

“The world has entered a period of turbulence and change over the past decade, during which China-Russia ties have made a great leap forward,” Xi stated. He highlighted the deepening political mutual trust and expanded cooperation across multiple fields between the two countries.

Xi urged both sides to make new and greater contributions to the development and revitalization of their nations and to uphold international fairness and justice.
