China and Russia Media Giants Sign Key Cooperation Agreements

In a significant move to strengthen media collaboration, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin attended a ceremony on Thursday where China Media Group (CMG) signed multiple cooperation agreements with leading Russian media institutions.

Shen Haixiong, president of CMG, exchanged cooperation documents with Oleg Dobrodeev, CEO of the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company; Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of Russia Today; and Svetlana Balanova, CEO of Russia’s National Media Group. These agreements aim to establish a regular cooperation mechanism and expand collaboration across various sectors.

Additionally, representing the China Film Administration, Shen signed cooperation documents with Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova. This partnership is expected to enhance cultural exchanges and promote joint film projects between the two nations.

The strengthened ties between Chinese and Russian media outlets are set to foster deeper mutual understanding and provide diverse content for audiences in both countries and beyond.
