Legendary Beast from China Unveiled As Mechanical Marvel

Legendary Kui Niu Unveiled as Giant Mechanical Marvel in Dalian

An imposing mechanical sculpture of Kui Niu, a legendary creature from ancient Chinese mythology, has been unveiled in Dalian, Liaoning Province. The large-scale art installation brings the mythical beast to life through state-of-the-art mechanical design.

On Thursday evening, a spectacular “awakening ceremony” marked the debut of the mechanical marvel. Measuring an impressive 21 meters in length, 6 meters in width, and 10 meters in height—extending up to 13 meters when rearing—the Kui Niu is composed of hundreds of precisely engineered components. Each joint is fully articulated, allowing the structure to move with striking lifelikeness, capturing the powerful energy of a creature in motion.

Visitors stood in awe as the Kui Niu came alive, its mechanical limbs moving seamlessly to mimic the mythical beast’s movements. The installation not only showcases advanced engineering but also celebrates China’s rich cultural heritage, blending ancient myths with modern technology.

The mechanical Kui Niu is expected to become a new landmark in Dalian, attracting tourists and locals alike to witness this fusion of art and innovation.
