Beijing Guoan secured their fifth consecutive victory in the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Saturday, defeating Shenzhen 3-1 at home. This win keeps them firmly in third place, just four points behind leaders Shanghai Shenhua and Chengdu Rongcheng, while still having one game in hand.
The home crowd erupted in the 28th minute when Sai Erjiniao’s cross from the right found Lin Liangming, who headed the ball into the net to open the scoring. Beijing doubled their advantage 16 minutes later as Sai Erjiniao blasted Guga’s pass from outside the box, making it 2-0 before halftime.
Shenzhen attempted a comeback early in the second half. Four minutes after the break, Rade Dugalic converted Eden Kartsev’s corner kick with a powerful header, reducing the deficit to 2-1. However, Beijing restored their two-goal cushion in the 71st minute when Guga capitalized on chaos in front of the goal to secure a 3-1 lead.
This victory makes Beijing Guoan the only undefeated club this season, boasting an impressive 24 goals—the highest in the league.
In other matches, Shanghai Shenhua continued their dominance at the top of the CSL standings with a convincing 4-0 win over Qingdao West Coast at home in east China’s Shanghai Municipality. Shenhua’s Saulo Mineiro was instrumental, scoring two goals and providing an assist. Teammates Liu Chengyu and Yang Haoyu also found the back of the net, sealing a comprehensive victory.
Elsewhere, Chengdu Rongcheng maintained their pursuit of the top spot with a 4-0 away win against Meizhou Hakka. Shandong Taishan triumphed over Zhejiang 4-2 in a thrilling encounter.
