Dalian Marathon 2025 Unites the World in Sport, Culture, and Tourism

The 35th Dalian Marathon kicked off on Sunday morning in Dalian, a coastal city in northeast China’s Liaoning Province. The event showcased the perfect blend of sports, culture, and tourism, drawing over 33,000 participants from 55 countries and regions.

Among the runners were 430 international athletes, with participants from across the globe embracing Dalian’s vibrant atmosphere. Athletes from Ethiopia and Kenya dominated the races, taking top positions in both the full and half marathon categories.

Dalian welcomed runners with its beautiful May weather and professional organization. Hundreds of medical workers and tens of thousands of volunteers were on-site to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all participants. Cultural performances lined the marathon route, cheering on runners and entertaining visitors.

In a bid to promote tourism, the city offered discounts on attractions, merchandise, food, and accommodation to runners and visitors throughout the month. Hosted by the Dalian Municipal People’s Government, the marathon was more than just a race—it was a celebration of openness and vitality, highlighting Dalian’s commitment to fostering global connections through sport.
