Beijing, China — Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Tuesday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The leaders discussed strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing cooperation between their nations.
Premier Li highlighted that China-Brazil relations have entered a “golden era” of development. He expressed China’s readiness to work alongside Brazil to achieve mutual success on the path to modernization. “China and Brazil should strengthen solidarity and coordination, jointly navigate risks and challenges, and reach a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results,” Li stated.
President Lula, on a state visit to China, acknowledged the strong development of Brazil-China relations. He conveyed Brazil’s willingness to deepen multilateral communication and coordination with China. “Brazil is committed to supporting multilateralism, resisting unilateralism and protectionism, safeguarding national sovereignty, and promoting the common development of the Global South,” Lula affirmed.
The meeting underscores the commitment of both nations to enhance cooperation and contribute to global development, particularly within the Global South. The discussions are expected to pave the way for new opportunities in trade, technology, and cultural exchanges between China and Brazil.
