Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the opening ceremony of the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-CELAC Forum in Beijing on Tuesday. The event signifies the ongoing commitment to strengthening ties between China and the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean.
The China-CELAC Forum, established in 2014, is a key platform for dialogue and cooperation between China and the 33 member countries of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC). The ministerial meeting brings together high-level officials to discuss avenues for collaboration in areas such as trade, investment, infrastructure, and cultural exchange.
During the opening ceremony, President Xi emphasized the importance of solidarity and mutual development. He reaffirmed China’s dedication to working closely with CELAC countries to promote shared prosperity and address global challenges.
The meeting aims to deepen cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, enhance people-to-people exchanges, and expand partnerships in emerging fields such as digital economy and green development.
