Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has called on China and Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries to collaborate in creating a mega market encompassing around 2 billion people. Speaking at a news conference in Beijing on Tuesday, Wang highlighted the potential of this partnership to drive global growth and foster prosperity.
“Prospects for cooperation between China and LAC countries are vast,” Wang said during the opening ceremony of the fourth ministerial meeting of the China-CELAC Forum. He emphasized China’s commitment to high-level opening up and sharing the opportunities of Chinese-style modernization with all countries.
Wang noted that the world is undergoing rapid changes unseen in a century. He urged China and LAC nations, as key players in promoting a multipolar world and the democratization of international relations, to deepen solidarity and cooperation. “We should jointly address these turbulent changes and inject positive energy into global peace and development,” he stated.
The China-CELAC Forum, established a decade ago, has already yielded significant results, according to Wang. He encouraged both sides to build on this momentum, expand areas of cooperation, enhance collaboration quality, and propel the forum into its next golden decade.
