China Enhances Comprehensive Control over Strategic Mineral Exports

China Tightens Control Over Strategic Mineral Exports

China is enhancing its control over the export of strategic minerals to prevent the illegal outflow of these vital resources. A spokesperson from the Ministry of Commerce announced that the country will strengthen oversight across all stages of the production and supply chain.

“The regulation of strategic minerals must start from the source,” the spokesperson stated. “We will enforce stricter controls over mining, smelting, processing, transportation, manufacturing, sales, and export to effectively prevent illegal outflow.”

Both central and local authorities have been tasked with improving traceability systems and establishing regular management mechanisms. These measures aim to ensure strict supervision at every step, safeguarding the nation’s strategic mineral resources and promoting their sustainable use.

China’s move comes amid ongoing efforts to crack down on smuggling and illegal export activities. By tightening control, China seeks to maintain its position in the global supply chain of critical minerals essential for various industries, including technology and manufacturing.
