Mainland Spokesperson Slams Lai Ching te for Distorting Wwii History

Chinese Spokesperson Accuses Lai Ching-te of Twisting WWII Facts

A Chinese mainland spokesperson has sharply criticized Lai Ching-te for allegedly distorting the history of World War II in his recent statements. The spokesperson, Chen Binhua from the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, accused Lai of manipulating historical narratives to promote his “Taiwan independence” agenda.

During a press conference on Wednesday, Chen stated that Lai is confusing the residents of Taiwan and misleading international public opinion with false accounts of history. He emphasized that China was a major battleground in Asia during World War II, suffering immense sacrifices with 35 million military and civilian casualties.

“Taiwan’s return to China is a significant outcome of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War,” Chen declared. He highlighted that this year marks the 80th anniversary of both the victory in the war and Taiwan’s recovery.

Chen asserted that just as China was able to defeat Japanese invaders 80 years ago and reintegrate Taiwan, the nation today is even more determined to prevent any attempts to separate Taiwan from China. He warned that those who engage in activities promoting secession will not meet a favorable end.

“No matter how Lai distorts history, he cannot change the fact that Taiwan is a part of China,” Chen remarked. He urged the people in Taiwan to recognize the serious harm caused by Lai’s actions and to join compatriots on the mainland in advancing national rejuvenation and the reunification of the motherland.

Lai Ching-te’s office has not yet responded to these statements. The tensions between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan authorities continue to draw international attention, with historical narratives playing a crucial role in the ongoing discourse.
