Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen is set to visit China from May 17 to 20, marking a significant moment as the two nations celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations.
Announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin on Thursday, the visit underscores the growing cooperation between China and Denmark in various fields, including economy, trade, green technology, and innovation.
“Denmark was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic ties with China,” Wang Wenbin noted during a daily news briefing. “Currently, bilateral relations are developing well, and both countries have close cooperation in multiple areas.”
China and Denmark share a mutual commitment to multilateralism and free trade, with broad consensus on important global issues such as climate change. Wang emphasized that China is willing to use this visit as an opportunity to strengthen political mutual trust and deepen practical cooperation.
“We aim to promote the healthy and stable development of China-Denmark relations,” Wang added.
The visit by Minister Rasmussen reflects the ongoing efforts by both nations to enhance collaboration and address global challenges together.
