In a move to strengthen diplomatic relations, Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen is set to visit China from May 17 to 20. The visit comes at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, as announced by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian on Thursday.
“Denmark was among the first countries to establish diplomatic ties with China,” Lin stated during a daily news briefing. “This year marks the 75th anniversary of our diplomatic relations, and both nations are witnessing positive developments in our bilateral ties.”
China and Denmark have been collaborating closely in areas such as economy, trade, green technology, and innovation. Both countries advocate for multilateralism and free trade, sharing common ground on critical global issues like climate change.
“China is willing to use this visit as an opportunity to consolidate political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, and promote healthy and stable China-Denmark relations,” Lin added.
The upcoming visit highlights the commitment of both nations to foster stronger partnerships and tackle global challenges together.
