Xi Jinping Calls for Stronger Manufacturing to Propel Chinese Modernization

Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has emphasized the importance of strengthening China’s manufacturing industry to advance the nation’s modernization efforts. On Monday, Xi visited Luoyang Bearing Group Co., Ltd. in Henan Province, a leading manufacturer that has made significant strides in technological innovation.

While touring the company’s intelligent manufacturing plant, Xi observed the performance of various bearing products and inspected advanced production lines. He spoke with workers about the critical role of manufacturing in China’s development.

“China has always adhered to the path of developing the real economy,” Xi remarked. “From once relying on imports for basic goods like matches and soap to becoming the world’s largest manufacturing nation, we’ve taken the right path.”

He stressed the need for China to continue strengthening its manufacturing sector by fostering self-reliance and mastering core technologies in key areas. Xi called for enhanced collaboration between industries, universities, and research institutes, and underscored the importance of cultivating high-quality talent to drive innovation.

Luoyang Bearing Group, a traditional manufacturing firm, has heavily invested in scientific research and achieved significant industrial upgrades. The company’s wind turbine main bearings now hold over 40% of the domestic market share, showcasing China’s advancements in high-tech manufacturing.
