Chinese Premier Li Qiang is set to embark on an official visit to Indonesia and Malaysia next week, highlighting China’s ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with Southeast Asian nations.
From May 24 to 26, Premier Li will be in Indonesia at the invitation of President Joko Widodo. During his visit, the two leaders are expected to discuss enhancing bilateral relations, economic cooperation, and infrastructure development projects.
Following his Indonesia visit, Li will attend the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from May 26 to 28. Invited by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, the current chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Li’s participation underscores China’s commitment to regional collaboration.
The summit brings together leaders from ASEAN, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and China to discuss key issues such as trade, security, and sustainable development. The gathering aims to foster stronger partnerships and address common challenges in the region.
