China and Turkmenistan Forge Stronger Partnership in Beijing Meeting
In a significant move to enhance bilateral relations, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Dunyagozel Gulmanova, Chairperson of Turkmenistan’s National Assembly (Mejlis), in Beijing on Friday. The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership.
Vice President Han emphasized the importance of the strategic guidance provided by the leaders of China and Turkmenistan, noting that their bilateral relations have reached new heights. “China is ready to work closely with Turkmenistan to implement the important consensus reached by our leaders,” Han stated. He highlighted areas such as natural gas cooperation, digital economy, green development, and new energy as key sectors for accelerated collaboration.
Han also expressed China’s eagerness to expand people-to-people and cultural exchanges with Turkmenistan. “Strengthening international collaboration and promoting the steady and long-term development of our bilateral relations is a priority,” he added.
Chairperson Gulmanova reflected on the longstanding friendship between the two countries. “Turkmenistan and China share a history of mutual respect and cooperation,” she said. Gulmanova conveyed Turkmenistan’s willingness to enhance exchanges in legislation, environmental protection, culture, economy and trade, and youth engagement. “Our aim is to achieve common development and prosperity,” she remarked.
The meeting represents a significant step forward in fostering deeper ties between China and Turkmenistan, with both nations committed to mutual support and shared growth.
