Team ‘AI Strategist’ Triumphs in Thrilling Robot Battle in Hangzhou

In an electrifying display of robotics and strategy, Team ‘AI Strategist’, led by operator Lu Xin, emerged victorious in a robot combat competition hosted by China Media Group (CMG) in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou on Sunday. The event showcased cutting-edge humanoid robots and brought together tech enthusiasts from across the region.

Participants controlled humanoid robots in intense one-on-one battles, using remote controls to maneuver and strike. According to commentator Yu Jia, each match consisted of three rounds, each lasting two minutes. Points were awarded based on precision hits: one point for striking the arms, three points for targeting the legs, and any hit to the front or back counted toward the total score. A knockdown incurred a five-point penalty, adding high stakes to every encounter. Failure to stand up led to immediate disqualification, keeping competitors on edge.

The robots used in the competition were G1 models developed by Unitree Robotics, which also partnered in organizing the event. These advanced machines demonstrated remarkable agility and responsiveness, highlighting the rapid advancements in robotics technology.

This competition is part of the CMG World Robot Competition Series, which will also feature robot football and basketball games. The series aims to spotlight regional robotics industries and promote the integration of science, culture, and tourism. Designed to be both educational and entertaining, it showcases cutting-edge robot technology in a thematic and visually engaging format.

The victory of Team ‘AI Strategist’ not only marks a significant achievement in robot combat sports but also inspires young innovators in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence around the world.
