An explosion at a chemical plant in the city of Gaomi, located in east China’s Shandong Province, has left five people dead and six others missing, according to local authorities.
The blast occurred on Tuesday at a workshop within the chemical company. As of 7:25 p.m., emergency response teams were still searching for the missing individuals.
An additional 19 people sustained minor injuries and have received medical attention. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.
Emergency services remain at the scene, working diligently to manage the aftermath and ensure the safety of nearby residents.
