Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a heartfelt congratulatory letter to the ninth national congress of the Chinese Young Pioneers (CYP), which opened on Tuesday in Beijing.
In his letter, President Xi emphasized the vital role of youth in building a strong nation and rejuvenating the Chinese nation. He called on the CYP, a national organization for children, to guide its members to become exemplary young people of the new era who love the Party and the country, are diligent in their studies, and develop in a well-rounded manner.
“As International Children’s Day approaches, I extend my warmest greetings to children across the country,” President Xi wrote. He underscored that children represent the future force in achieving national prosperity and encouraged the creation of a favorable environment for their healthy growth.
The congress was attended by prominent figures, including Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, and Shi Taifeng, head of the CPC Central Committee’s Organization Department. Shi read President Xi’s letter to the assembly and urged CYP members to keep the teachings in mind, staying prepared to contribute to the great cause of building a strong nation.
Approximately 3,000 people participated in the opening meeting, marking a significant gathering aimed at inspiring the young generation to contribute positively to society.
