China’s Premier Li Qiang assured overseas enterprises that the nation is fully prepared to handle external economic shocks. Speaking at a symposium in Indonesia on Sunday, Li highlighted China’s resilience amid global economic uncertainties.
“Since the beginning of this year, our economy has continued to recover and improve,” Li said, addressing representatives from leading Chinese companies including Huawei, SAIC Motor, and TCL Technology Group. “Foreign trade, in particular, has demonstrated strong resilience.”
Li acknowledged the challenges posed by the fragmented global trade environment, noting that rising trade barriers and disrupted supply chains have significantly impacted economies worldwide. In response, he emphasized China’s commitment to proactive fiscal policies and a moderately loose monetary policy to stabilize employment and the economy.
“China is introducing relevant measures to support our enterprises,” Li stated. “We are researching and preparing new policy tools, including some unconventional measures, which will be rolled out promptly as circumstances evolve. We have the confidence and ability to promote sustained improvement of economic performance.”
The premier encouraged Chinese companies to strengthen their presence in Indonesia and expand across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). He urged them to explore new markets, enhance development quality and efficiency, and help Chinese products and services gain better access to global markets.
“It’s not easy for our enterprises to operate overseas,” Li remarked. “But with our support, you can contribute significantly to local economic development and serve as friendly ambassadors enhancing exchanges between China and the rest of the world.”
Company representatives at the symposium expressed their commitment to seize new opportunities and strengthen investment cooperation in areas such as the green economy, connectivity, and industrial and supply chains. They highlighted the growth momentum of Chinese enterprises in Indonesia and their role in promoting bilateral economic cooperation.
“Despite uncertainties in the international economic environment, we carry forward the spirit of entrepreneurship,” a representative said. “We actively respond to challenges and continuously expand overseas markets to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.”
