Over 60 teams from the Chinese mainland and around the world have gathered in Shanghai for the inaugural “Labor in Glory” International Robot Skills Competition. This groundbreaking event features 28 real-world challenges across five categories: humanoid robots, embodied intelligence, core tech innovation, robot soccer, and creative applications.
Participants are set to tackle tasks that push the boundaries of robotics, including labeling cars, folding clothes, retrieving items from the fridge, and navigating disaster simulations. These challenges not only test technical prowess but also aim to address practical problems faced in everyday life and emergency situations.
The competition is part of Shanghai’s ambitious efforts to become a global leader in intelligent automation. By bringing together top talent from various regions, the event seeks to boost international collaboration in robotics and artificial intelligence.
In addition to the competition, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations at July’s World AI Conference (WAIC 2025), further highlighting the rapid advancements and creativity in the field.
“This event is a unique platform for young innovators to demonstrate their skills and learn from each other,” said one of the organizers. “We hope it will inspire more youth to engage with robotics and contribute to the future of technology.”
