The “Baba Nyonya World” exhibition commemorates 35 years of China-Singapore diplomatic relations by showcasing 132 exquisite artifacts from Singapore’s Asian Civilisations Museum and Peranakan Museum.
“Baba Nyonya,” also known as Peranakan Chinese, are descendants of early Chinese settlers who married local Malay women in Southeast Asia centuries ago. This unique community blends Chinese and local traditions, resulting in a rich cultural tapestry that is both familiar and distinct.
