China’s Export Controls Align with Global Norms, Says Foreign Ministry

China’s export control measures are in line with international standards and are not designed to discriminate or target any specific country, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian. Speaking at a regular press conference on Friday, Lin emphasized that China’s policies aim to safeguard the stability of global industrial and supply chains.

“China is ready to engage in more dialogue and cooperation with relevant countries and regions on export controls,” Lin said. He highlighted China’s commitment to maintaining fair trade practices and ensuring that its export policies align with global norms.

Addressing comparisons between China and the United States, Lin pointed out that the U.S. actions represent an overextension of national security concepts. He accused the U.S. of politicizing economic, trade, and scientific issues to unjustly contain and suppress China.

“China firmly opposes such actions and will resolutely defend its legitimate rights and interests,” Lin stated.

The spokesperson’s remarks underscore China’s stance on fostering international cooperation while opposing measures that threaten global trade stability.
