Chinese Premier Li Qiang Meets Japanese Business Leaders to Boost Cooperation

Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with a Japanese business delegation led by Yohei Kono, president of the Japanese Association for the Promotion of International Trade (JAPIT), in Beijing on Tuesday. The meeting aimed to enhance economic ties and mutual trust between China and Japan.

Li emphasized China’s readiness to work with all sectors in Japan to implement the political consensus that the two countries are cooperative partners, not threats to each other. He expressed hope for achieving tangible results in practical cooperation and strengthening the foundation of political mutual trust and people-to-people friendship.

“China and Japan have many unique advantages in deepening cooperation,” Li stated. “Both sides should leverage these advantages to achieve greater mutual benefits and win-win results, inject momentum into each other’s development, and make greater contributions to global economic growth.”

The Premier highlighted China’s commitment to expanding high-level opening up and welcomed more foreign-funded enterprises, including those from Japan, to develop in China. He expressed optimism that JAPIT would continue to play an active role in deepening economic and trade cooperation and enhancing friendship between the two countries.

Yohei Kono noted that in the current international situation, Japan and China should enhance communication and coordination to jointly safeguard multilateralism and the free trade system. “JAPIT has long been committed to Japan-China friendship and is willing to continue expanding exchanges with China, enhancing mutual understanding, and making positive contributions to deepening ties between our peoples and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation,” Kono said.

The meeting signifies a mutual effort to strengthen relations, promote economic growth, and ensure stability in the region.
