Chinese President Xi Jinping welcomed Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Beijing on Wednesday, marking their 15th meeting to strengthen the partnership between China and Belarus.
President Xi congratulated Lukashenko on his recent reelection, emphasizing that the two nations are true friends and reliable partners who treat each other with sincerity and trust. He highlighted the enduring friendship and strong political mutual trust shared between the countries, noting that China views the relationship from a strategic and long-term perspective.
Xi expressed China’s willingness to work with Belarus to promote steady development of bilateral ties and achieve win-win cooperation. He called for enhanced coordination within international organizations like the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, urging both countries to jointly oppose hegemony and bullying while safeguarding international fairness and justice.
President Lukashenko, commemorating his 15th visit to China, shared his deep sense of friendship with the Chinese people. He thanked China for its steadfast support and assistance, stating that Belarus holds a high degree of trust in China and is eager to advance cooperation.
Lukashenko praised China for setting a global example by upholding multilateralism and opposing unilateralism, sanctions, and pressure. He expressed admiration for China’s role in promoting international fairness and justice, and affirmed Belarus’s commitment to working together toward these shared goals.
