China Global Television Network (CGTN) has teamed up with the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA) for an exciting “Central Asia Expedition” media tour. This collaboration aims to spotlight the growing ties between China and Uzbekistan ahead of the China-Central Asia Summit scheduled for mid-June.

A team of six Chinese journalists traveled across Uzbekistan in new energy vehicles, highlighting the expanding cooperation between the two nations. Accompanied by Utkir Alimov, deputy editor-in-chief of UzA’s International Relations Department, the team explored various aspects of bilateral collaboration, including trade, investment, infrastructure development, and cultural exchanges.

The joint coverage, set to air on CGTN and UzA platforms, features significant events like the China-Uzbekistan Local Cooperation Forum in Samarkand and a visit to the production facilities at the BYD Uzbekistan Factory in Jizzakh. The expedition also showcases Uzbekistan’s rich tourism potential, featuring iconic destinations such as Bukhara, Samarkand, and Tashkent.

G’afforov Alovaddin Nasriyevich, Deputy General Director of UzA, welcomed the CGTN team at UzA’s headquarters in Tashkent. He emphasized the importance of media partnerships in strengthening the ties between the people of China and Uzbekistan. “As leading media outlets in our respective countries, UzA and CGTN play a vital role in enhancing mutual understanding and fostering closer relations between our nations,” he said.

The “Central Asia Expedition” not only highlights the fruitful cooperation between China and Uzbekistan but also sets the stage for the upcoming China-Central Asia Summit, where regional collaboration is expected to reach new heights.
