China Expands Internet Reach with New Satellite Launch

China successfully launched a new set of low Earth orbit satellites early Friday, marking a significant step in expanding its internet infrastructure from space.

The satellites were sent into orbit at 4:45 a.m. from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China’s Shanxi Province. Carried aboard a modified Long March-6 carrier rocket, they entered their preset orbits successfully.

This group of satellites is the fourth of its kind and will form part of an internet constellation aimed at enhancing global connectivity. The constellation is expected to provide faster and more reliable internet services worldwide, reaching even the most remote areas.

The launch also marks the 580th mission of the Long March series carrier rockets, highlighting China’s rapid advancements in space technology and its commitment to building a global information network.
