Beijing to Launch Worlds First Embodied Ai Robot 4s Store

Beijing Unveils Plans for World’s First AI Robot ‘4S Store’

Beijing is set to revolutionize the robotics industry with the launch of the world’s first “4S Store” dedicated to embodied artificial intelligence (AI) robots.

Unveiled during a press conference on Wednesday, the groundbreaking facility is scheduled to open in Yizhuang, southern Beijing, during the 2025 World Robot Conference from August 8 to 12. The “4S” concept stands for sales, service, spare parts, and surveys, mirroring the model used in the automotive industry.

The store will offer an immersive experience where visitors can interact with robots in real-life settings. Customers will have access to robot sales, maintenance services, parts supply, and support, all under one roof. A nationwide rapid-response parts supply network and a professional support team will ensure top-notch maintenance and repair services.

Industry excitement is growing, with over 100 robotics supply chain enterprises expressing interest in joining the initiative. Among them are more than 30 companies specializing in humanoid robots. Ten leading embodied AI robot firms, including the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, UBTECH, and Galaxea, have already signed cooperation agreements and are expected to be among the first to set up in the store.

“The establishment of the world’s first 4S Store for embodied AI robots is a significant step in building a vibrant robotics ecosystem in Yizhuang,” said Liang Liang, deputy director of Yizhuang’s administrative committee. “It paves the way for rapid development of robotics firms and enhances the area’s global influence as a robotics hub.”

Yizhuang is emerging as a key player in the robotics sector, hosting over 300 robotics and smart manufacturing enterprises. The district is home to the permanent site of the World Robot Conference and boasts an industry chain valued at over 10 billion yuan (approximately $1.39 billion), accounting for half of Beijing’s total robotics industry.

Earlier this year, Yizhuang hosted the world’s first humanoid robot half-marathon, drawing 20 robotics teams from universities, research institutes, and tech companies. Tiangong Ultra, developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, claimed victory in the race, finishing the 21.0975-kilometer course in just over two hours and 40 minutes.

Liang noted that Yizhuang is rapidly becoming a cradle for the future of the robotics industry and a vital hub connecting to the global market. With the upcoming launch of the AI Robot 4S Store, Beijing is set to solidify its position at the forefront of technological innovation.
