Pop Mart, the renowned Chinese toymaker, has launched its jewelry brand Popop’s first global flagship store in Shanghai. The grand opening on Friday was graced by Pop Mart’s founder, Wang Ning.
“We’ve always wanted to explore more possibilities through different product categories. Jewelry is a key segment we’ve been eager to develop,” Wang shared during the opening ceremony.
Popop aims to make a mark in the global fashion jewelry market, which is valued at $50 billion. The Shanghai flagship store showcases accessories inspired by popular intellectual properties (IPs) such as Hirono, Molly, Skull Panda, Crybaby, Labubu, and Star Man. Prices range from 319 to 2,699 yuan (approximately $44 to $376).
Among these, Labubu stands out as Pop Mart’s flagship IP, having gained popularity among consumers worldwide. The Labubu series is known for its diverse and rapidly updated products, with its fourth-generation offerings expected to launch by late 2025 or early 2026.
Pop Mart has become a household name among young collectors, known for its trendy and collectible figures. The venture into fashion jewelry with Popop is expected to resonate with fans eager to express their individuality through unique accessories.
