The second China–Central Asia Summit is scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan later this June, marking a significant step in regional cooperation and development. This biennial summit serves as the highest-level platform under the China–Central Asia cooperation mechanism, bringing together leaders to discuss and enhance collaboration across various sectors.
The inaugural summit was held on May 18 and 19, 2023, in Xi’an, located in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province. The event laid the groundwork for deeper ties between China and the five Central Asian nations: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Central Asia is a region rich in diversity and resources. Kazakhstan, the largest country among them in terms of land area, offers vast opportunities for infrastructure and energy projects. On the other hand, Uzbekistan boasts the largest population, contributing significantly to the region’s cultural and economic vibrancy.
