Xi Jinping’s ‘Classic Quotes’ TV Show Debuts Across Central Asia

A new television program featuring Chinese President Xi Jinping’s favorite quotes from ancient Chinese classics has started airing across five Central Asian countries. Titled “The Classic Quotes by Xi Jinping,” the multilingual show produced by China Media Group (CMG) aims to share China’s rich cultural heritage and modern development philosophy with its neighbors.

The program premiered at the Presidential Center in Kazakhstan on Monday, just ahead of the second China-Central Asia Summit. It will be broadcast nationally on state television networks and major media platforms in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed his congratulations on the launch of the show, highlighting its potential to strengthen cultural ties between China and Central Asia.

By exploring themes like openness, cooperation, technological innovation, environmental protection, and cultural creativity, the program offers viewers a deeper understanding of the historical and cultural foundations of China’s approach to governance and modernization.

Erlan Karin, State Counselor of Kazakhstan, along with cultural and media professionals from the region, praised the show for building a new bridge between the peoples of Central Asia and China. They believe it will help audiences appreciate the unique charm of Chinese culture and foster a closer China-Central Asia community with a shared future.

The program’s launch was featured prominently in leading Kazakh newspapers such as “Kazakhstan Pravda” and “Sovereign Kazakhstan.” It also received coverage from major media outlets across Asia and Europe, including Tajikistan’s state news agency Khovar and Turkmenistan’s Turkmen News.
