The Chinese Foreign Ministry is urgently organizing the evacuation of Chinese citizens from Iran and Israel amid rising regional tensions, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun.
At a regular news briefing on Tuesday, Guo stated that Chinese authorities have activated an emergency response mechanism to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals and institutions in the area. “We have urged both Israel and Iran to take all necessary measures to guarantee the security of Chinese citizens and organizations,” Guo said.
Chinese embassies and consulates in the region are maintaining continuous communication with Chinese nationals, providing them with safety guidelines and assistance. “We have promptly issued relevant alerts and are guiding our citizens on implementing safety precautions and emergency avoidance measures,” Guo added.
Some Chinese citizens have already been safely evacuated to neighboring countries. The Foreign Ministry is actively assisting in further evacuation efforts to ensure all Chinese nationals in the region are secure.
The move comes as tensions escalate in the Middle East, prompting several countries to take measures to protect their citizens. China is closely monitoring the situation and stands ready to support its people abroad.
