Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang is set to attend the 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in Russia from June 19 to 21, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Ding, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, was invited by the Russian government, spokesperson Guo Jiakun announced on Tuesday.
The forum is a significant platform for discussing global economic governance and fostering international cooperation. This year’s theme, “Shared Values: The Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World,” aims to explore effective approaches to global challenges.
During the event, Ding will participate in various activities and meet with Russian leaders. China aims to strengthen communication with all parties, promote common human values, and advance inclusive economic globalization.
“China looks forward to consolidating consensus on cooperation and injecting strong impetus into improving global governance and promoting world development and prosperity,” Guo said.
Guo added that China is willing to work with Russia to implement the important agreements reached by their heads of state, deepen practical cooperation, and continually advance the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for the new era.
