Chinese President Xi Jinping has expressed deep concern over the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East, urging all parties to take immediate steps to de-escalate the situation and prevent further deterioration.
During a meeting with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the sidelines of the second China-Central Asia Summit in Astana, President Xi exchanged views on recent developments in the region. He stressed that China opposes any actions that infringe upon the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of other countries, emphasizing that military conflict is not a solution.
“Military confrontation is not the way to resolve disputes, and continued escalation serves no one’s interests,” President Xi pointed out.
He called on the international community to work together to cool tensions in the region. “All parties should act with restraint, avoid further escalation, and help return the region to peace and stability as soon as possible,” he said.
President Xi reaffirmed China’s commitment to playing a constructive role in restoring peace and stability in the Middle East, working alongside all parties involved.
