President Xi Vows China-Central Asia Unity Against Hegemony

Chinese President Xi Jinping has pledged to collaborate with Central Asian countries to uphold international justice and oppose hegemonism and power politics. Speaking at the second China-Central Asia Summit in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, on Tuesday, Xi emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation in fostering global fairness.

“China stands ready to work with Central Asian nations to safeguard international justice,” Xi stated. He highlighted the joint formation of the China-Central Asia Spirit between China and the five Central Asian countries, which embodies mutual respect, mutual trust, mutual benefit, mutual assistance, and a shared pursuit of modernization through high-quality development.

Addressing economic concerns, Xi remarked, “There are no winners in tariff and trade wars. Unilateralism and protectionism harm everyone.” He called for collective efforts to promote open and inclusive development, stressing that collaborative growth is essential for regional stability and prosperity.

The summit brought together leaders from China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan to discuss strengthening ties and addressing common challenges. The leaders agreed on the need for enhanced cooperation to promote peace, stability, and economic development in the region.
